As they approach the third anniversary of their album Spirits Eat Music, SunDub is excited to mark the moment with a special release. “Jump and Dance” (featuring reggae legend Lutan Fyah) has been reimagined by the iconic dub engineer, Scientist.
Known for shaping the sound of reggae and dub with his groundbreaking mixes, Scientist has brought his unmistakable touch to these songs, pushing the bass deeper, stretching the echoes wider, and uncovering new dimensions within the music. These remixes are both a celebration of how far Spirits Eat Music has carried the band over the past three years and an invitation to experience the record in a whole new light.

Brooklyn Riddim is a reggae compilation produced by Brooklyn-based band SunDub and released by NYC’s renowned Easy Star Records. This project brings together a diverse lineup of local and international artists, each contributing their own unique lyrics and vocal interpretations over SunDub’s original instrumental track.
In Jamaican music culture, a riddim (the patois pronunciation of “rhythm”) is an instrumental track that multiple artists use as the foundation for their own versions of a song. This tradition has been central to reggae and dancehall, fostering creativity and collaboration across generations.
Blending modern and classic reggae influences, Brooklyn Riddim features performances from an all-star cast, including SunDub, Cas Haley, Mo'Kalamity, King Cruff, Salomón Beda, The Meditations, Clatta Bumboo, Sailor Jane, Vysionaer, Taj Weekes, Kumar, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, King Cruff, Coolie Ranx, Easy Star All-Stars, Sidney Mills, and more. The result is a vibrant and eclectic compilation that showcases reggae’s rich storytelling tradition while celebrating the genre’s global reach.
ALBUM: Spirits Eat Music

Earlier this summer, as they began rolling out music from their second full-length album, SunDub kicked things off by showcasing three diverse singles showing multiple facets of their musical approach on Spirits Eat Music. Starting with “Jump And Dance,” featuring Lutan Fyah, the Brooklyn-based five-piece delivered an irresistible feel good tune perfect for the warm summer months. Switching it up, next came the title track “Spirits Eat Music,” a catchy tune with a heavier theme that speaks to a personal message of love and loss for the band. The latest single “New Ways To Love,” featuring GRAMMY-winning vocalist Peetah Morgan (of Morgan Heritage), inspires an optimistic outlook towards life through its uplifting lyrics. The official video for the song was just released, further showcasing the playful and positive nature of the track. The video was filmed on location in Florida and was directed, shot, and edited by David Svedosh.
